Always clean the two mating surfaces of any rust and debris before installing the new o-ring. I personally like to take the time to lightly sandblast and then paint the two surfaces. However, a wire brush should be just as effective but may take a little more time to clean out.
Can also be purchased with the new valve stem grommets. Many times the valve stem is good but it's a wise idea to replace the grommet for it at the same time you are replacing the large o-ring.

These o-rings only fit the 5 ton combat rims that use the larger studs to hold the two rim halves together. So if you would use a 15/16 socket to take the rim apart, this is not the o-ring for you. If you have to use a 1-1/8 socket to take the rim halves apart then yes, these are the o-rings you need. We will not sell o-rings for the smaller studs. There is too much of a known issue with that style of rim to seal correctly that if we were to sell those o-rings no matter how high of quality they are, when your rims don't seal you will blame the o-ring and not the rim. The rims are the problem, not the o-ring. We will happily supply you with new rims,as we've done with many other customers, to replace your other rims.
